Love Brings Us Together

vlntnLadies came together on February 10 to celebrate and appreciate the love at College Station/Bryan Raindrop Turkish House. A well-known Turkish love story about Asli and Kerem was told. Asli and Kerem is a dramatic love story, like Romeo and Juliet. After the story was told, a drama presented about Firat, a folk song written by a lover who lost his bride at the Firat River on the day of their wedding. Then, ladies had a dinner together and drank Turkish coffee and tea with a warm discussion.  Ladies also danced and enjoyed all together. Raindrop Ladies thanks all who came and join the love circle that night.

Raindrop_Nursing_Home_visitRaindrop Turkish House in College Station/Bryan visited Bluebonnet House in College Station. Raindrop volunteers brought roses, fresh fruits and smiles to the senior residents.The visit was very much appreciated by the residents and staff and enriching to the visitors.

RecyclingRaindrop Turkish House in College Station/Bryan hosted Ms. Heather Qualls, Recycling Coordinator of City of College Station for a presentation with the topic "Start Recycling". Ms Qualls explained types of recycling in College Station; residential, multifamily, and commercial. Ms Qualls talked about things citizens should know about the recycling program. In addition, she mentioned College Station Recycling's Recycle Rewards. After the presentation the guests had a chance to taste delicious Turkish food and get to know the members of the Turkish community.

Raindrop Turkish House hosted Turkish Consul General Mr Cemalettin Aydin. Mr Aydin met with Turkish businessmen, academicians and graduate students and talked about the activities of consulate. During the program graduate students found an opportunity to talk more about Turkish foreign policy and the way of representing Turkish culture.

Raindrop Turkish House Contributed a Conference at Texas A&M University

Conference_TAMURaindrop Turkish House College Station/Bryan chapter contributed a conference "Turkey as a Bridge between Europe and the Middle East" at Texas A&M University. The conference provided educators with a great opportunity to hear current information about Turkey and to understand Turkey's path to democracy. Raindrop Turkish House exhibited Turkish arts, such as handicrafts, ceramics, copper works and demonstrated paper marbling. Also, President/CEO of Raindrop Turkish Houses Mr. Okumus gave speech about Turkey trip for educators.
