Raindrop Turkish House – Albuquerque in collaboration with IID organized the First Annual Dialog and Friendship Dinner on November 16th, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in Embassy Suites Hotel in Albuquerque, NM. Around 120 distinguished guests including representatives from different walks of life such as local media, elected officials, clergy, and leader of the communities, senators, state representatives, business people, and artists were present at the dinner and shared their tables with one another.
The Honorable Chief Justice, Charles Daniels was the key note speaker. New Mexico Senators Bill Payne and Tim Keller and Representative Rick Miera were the Host Committee.
The program started with the reception and the welcoming speech of Raindrop Turkish House, IID – Albuquerque Representatives and was followed with dinner. The MC was Rob Raucci from KUNM who invited Fr. Tom Jackson, Pastor, Aquinas Newman Center for the opening Invocation.
The next speaker was the president of IID, Dr. Alp Arslandogan. He gave his speech regarding the importance of interfaith dialog in terms of world's peace. The key note speaker, Chief Justice, Charles Daniels mentioned about his experience during a visit to the country of Turkey. The closing pray was performed by Rev. Joanne Burns from Unity Spiritual Center.
Audience enjoyed the live instrumental music ("Madame Winter"- name of the music group) while dinner is served and having the information about activities- future plans of Raindrop Turkish House.Â
