iflctxRaindrop Foundation is happy to announce that 14th Annual International Festival of Language and Culture Southwest USA Gala will be held on Saturday February 6, 2106 from 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm. at Hobby Center in Houston Texas. The festival is an annual celebration and showcase for the diversity of linguistic talents from across the world. It is dedicated to cultivate and educate the youth and create a platform to share their cultural heritage with their peers around the world. It is our mission to rise on the wings of art and music and promote peace, love, and cultural encounters through the world.

Turkish FOODCRAFT FEST. 2015Please be our guest at the Turkish Food and Craft Festival on Saturday April 18, 2015 anytime between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

It will be an authentic weekend with an opportunity to enjoy exquisite samples of Turkish- Mediterranean cuisine (Doner Kebab, Baklava, Turkish Coffee and more), to learn more about a different culture and to see live presentations of traditional Turkish Arts such as Ebru (Water Marbling).

The Whirling Dervish Performance of Rumi is a highly spiritual celebration of existence, performed by members of the Mawlawi Order, a branch of the Sufi order, which was founded in 13th century in the Turkish city of Konya. Sufism emphasizes universal love, peace, acceptance of various spiritual paths and a mystical union with the divine. Their dance is a traditional form of Sufi worship; a continuous twirling with one hand pointed upward reaching for the divine and the other hand pointed toward the ground.

Dumanl─▒ and Karaca were detained along with more than 20 people in a nationwide operation early on Sunday, December 14, 2014. A list of suspects to be detained, released by ─░stanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, shows that a total of 32 people are to be detained.

The suspects are accused of "forming, leading or being a member of an armed terrorist organization," "forgery" and "slander," according to a statement released by the prosecutor's office.

soma-70F1-6B1F-1312On Tuesday, May 13th a mining disaster claimed the lives of nearly 300 miners in Soma near western Turkey. According to reports the death toll seems certain to rise, as about 100 people are still missing. The disaster was caused by a fire in the mine. Efforts were made to save the victims, however only around 100 have been rescued.The mine explosion is already being called the deadliest industrial disaster in Turkey's history. It is not just those who lost relatives and loved ones in the worst mining tragedy that Turkey has ever faced who are suffering; the whole country is mourning the deaths of the 300 mine workers killed in the disaster. On behalf of Raindrop Foundation we would like to convey our condolences to the friends and relatives of the miners and our deepest sympathies to the families. Now it is time to help the rescued miners and the families of the victims. Raindrop Foundation in collaboration with Embrace Relief has started a campaign for the people of Soma who are affected by the mining disaster.
